Following on from the hugely (and internationally!!) popular TD5SPY Engine Monitoring System for the TD5 engine and it’s twin, the OBD2 Engine Monitoring System for the Defender Puma and Freelander engines, we’re very pleased to be involved in the launch of a new ‘SPY’ development that will supplement either of these Engine Monitoring Systems whilst adding even more comfort, reliability and security to you hard working Landy.
The TPMS system takes monitoring to the next level by providing for dynamic tyre pressure monitoring seamlessly integrated into the TD5SPY app. We’re able to supply both Internal and External TPMS sensors that are easily fitted to your vehicle of choice.
Our app connects to the Tyre Pressure Sensors via Bluetooth, making the installation and operation extremely simple. When you purchase the TPMS sensors, we pre-configure your app with the sensor codes. For those of you who choose to install the Internal sensors, we also provide a mechanism for you to move the codes should you wish to rotate your tyres at any time.
The app displays the pressure and temperature of each tyre as well as the battery percentage remaining. These values are updated about every 3 minutes when travelling.
When starting the app the last saved pressure readings are displayed but the temp and battery levels are displayed as zero. Once a communication is received from a specific sensor, the correct temperature and battery level is displayed.
An alert and error pressure level can be configured to notify the user of low pressure readings. A zero pressure alarm notification is also included.
Go ahead and treat your Landy! You know she deserves it (and you’ll benefit from the resulting peace of mind).

External Sensor Installation Instructions
- Open the TD5SPY app on your mobile phone and swipe to the TYRE PRESSURES page
- Go to the TD5SPY app menu, select System Settings => General Settings. Enable TPMS. The select System Settings => TPMS Settings. Ensure sensor codes are configured for each required tyre
- Start the tyre scan by clicking on START TYRE SCAN
- Clean all tyre valves then fit the sensors, one after the other, by first fitting the lock nut then the sensor. Once the sensor is tightly fitted, use the lock nut to secure the sensor
- After a few minutes, the tyre pressures should register on the app
- If some pressures are not displayed, then drive the vehicle at over 20km/hr until all sensors communicate to the app
Internal Sensor Installation Instructions
- At your preferred Tyre Fitment Centre, remove the tyres and existing valves and fit the internal sensors making sure that they are well secured. Use the configured sensor codes to determine which sensor gets fitted to which tyre
- When sensors are fitted and you are ready to start pumping the tyres, proceed as listed below
- Open the TD5SPY app on your mobile phone and swipe to the TYRE PRESSURES page
- Go to the TD5SPY app menu, select System Settings => General Settings. Enable TPMS. The select System Settings => TPMS Settings. Ensure sensor codes are configured for each tyre
- Start the tyre scan by clicking on START TYRE SCAN
- Start pumping the tyres
- After a few minutes, the tyre pressures should register on the app
- Fit the tyres to the vehicle in the correct position for the fitted sensors codes
- If some pressures are not displayed, then drive the vehicle at over 20km/hr until all sensors communicate to the app
