Now available for Defender Pumas (2007-2016) & Freelanders too!
Your TD5 deserves the very best!
Enter the new allSPY. This little system integrates additional external sensors into the TD5SPY Smartphone Application alongside either of its Big Brothers, the OBD2 & TD5SPY dongles. Whether you use the allSPY with the OBD2 Engine Monitoring System / TD5SPY Engine Monitoring System, or on its own, this clever unit offers essential monitoring solutions that are technically advanced but easy to use. Just like Big Brother, the allSPY is also Bluetooth enabled.
Fitting the allSPY is a breeze and completes your monitoring solution. Install the sensors that you’d like and its as easy as that.
If you’d like to use the dongle in another type of vehicle – no problem! Just turn off the OBD2 / TD5SPY connection in the app and you’re left with the Additional Sensors screen only.
The Complete Monitoring Solution!
The allSPY unshackles the OBD2 / TD5SPY from the vehicle ECU and allows you to achieve a complete monitoring application by combining data from the ECU as well as data from external sensors into one integrated app.
Now you will be able to monitor the following key indicators:
• Exhaust gas temp
• Engine oil temp
• Engine oil pressure
• Auto gearbox oil temp
• Transfer oil temp
• Oil Pressure and Gearbox temp switches
• Coolant level detector
• 3 programmable outputs with 2 relays
The Inputs & Outputs
The allSPY provides for three sensing inputs and three open collector outputs. Two of the outputs also drive SPDT relays in parallel.
The inputs are used to monitor the following:
- Coolant level detector
- Oil pressure switch
- Auto gearbox oil temp switch
The Coolant Low Detector
Some would argue that the most important item to monitor is your Coolant Level in the expansion tank.
Sudden loss of coolant, coupled with the fact that most vehicle temperature gauges are so heavily damped, basically ensures that the engine has overheated before the gauge even moves off centre! A new headgasket or head is the inevitable result.
Although the TD5SPY circumvents this by providing an early warning (and I can vouch for this), fitting the allSPY Coolant Level Detector provides an immediate alarm and peace of mind.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to drill holes into your coolant reservoir, as our system is completely non-intrusive and detects the coolant level directly through the side of your coolant reservoir!
Just silicone it to the side our your reservoir and you’re done.
The Switch Emulation
Being a clever little gadget, the allSPY makes installing some of the sensors even easier.
Instead of having to tee in the oil pressure switch alongside the oil pressure sensor and gearbox temp switch just leave them out.
Connect the removed switch wires to the allSPY and it will emulate these switches.
What’s even better is that you can now control the level that these will switch at, as this is now synced to the alert level settings for Oil Pressure and Gearbox Oil Temp in the OBD2 / TD5SPY!
The switch emulation operates even if you are not connected via the app.
The Extras
The OBD2 & TD5SPY engine monitoring systems have been developed specifically to keep your Land Rover Defender (Puma or TD5), Discovery 2 (TD5) or Freelander engine in check. A cost effective solution for you using OBD2 diagnostics with a Bluetooth link to a cell phone application. Check them out here: OBD2 Engine Monitoring System or TD5SPY Engine Monitoring System.
Water loss detection is considered to be an essential engine saving system. The ever important allSPY Coolant Level Detector acts independently of, and faster than, the Landy’s ECU. It is completely non-intrusive – it detects the coolant level directly through the side of your coolant reservoir! Our allSPY Coolant Level Detector is available in 2 variants, protecting either with or without the allSPY Enhanced Engine Monitoring System. The separate unit can be seen here: allSPY Coolant Level Detector (Standalone).
