TD5 tripping made easy!
The TD5SPY engine monitoring system has been developed specifically to keep your Land Rover Discovery 2 or Defender TD5 engine in check. So you can focus on the road while the TD5SPY takes care of your engine.
The system monitors a wide range of performance indicators, performs various test and diagnostic routines & reads and clears CPU faults. It continuously keeps you informed on the engine’s running status. Out-of-range parameters are displayed in orange or red depending on severity. In addition, the unit speaks to you to let you know if anything is going wrong.
The TD5SPY solution comprises the TD5SPY Dongle, the TD5SPY Application & TD5SPY Website access.
This cost effective solution is simple to install, technically sophisticated and super easy to read. Simply plug the TD5SPY Dongle into your TD5’s OBD2 port, pair your Android or Apple phone with it (via Bluetooth) and you are up and running – it’s monitoring!
The TD5SPY Application has 8 pages that display:

The Monitor
The system primarily focuses on monitoring the engine to keep you informed on its running status. Engine alerting parameters can be customised to your requirements.
Out of range parameters are displayed in orange or red depending on severity. In addition, the unit speaks to you to let you know if anything is wrong.
The Logger
The TD5SPY logs engine data (including alerts & fault logs) so you can upload, view and analyse your trip logs on the TD5SPY Website.
If you have enabled GPS tracking on the application, your routes are displayed in Google Maps. Each log entry is linked to GPS coordinates and a timestamp, allowing you to gauge the performance over a specific portion of your journey.
The following graphs are currently available: RPM, Speed, Turbo Boost, Engine Load, Coolant Temp, Altitude, Throttle, Fuel Demand, Air Intake, Air/Fuel Ratio, Various Control Inputs, Diesel Used as well as Instantaneous, Section & Average Consumption.
The Extras
The newest player on the block is the allSPY. This unit provides connectivity to external sensors like EGT, engine oil temp & pressure, gearbox & transfer case temperatures, coolant levels and more. In conjunction with the TD5SPY you can now have a complete, sophisticated and integrated monitoring solution by combining data from the ECU as well as key external sensors. Water loss detection is considered to be an essential engine saving system. The ever important allSPY Coolant Level Detector acts independently of and faster than the TD5’s ECU. It is completely non-intrusive – it detects the coolant level directly through the side of your coolant reservoir! Our allSPY Coolant Level Detector is available in 2 variants, working either with or without the allSPY Enhanced Engine Management System. The TD5SPY Application works on both Android and iOS Smartphones (the iOS app is currently in beta trials via Testflight).
